Effective September 3, 2026

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and who we share it with.

1. Who we are

Starwire Technologies, LLC, P.O. Box 428, Siren, WI 54872. Questions: info@starwire.net or 877-679-4242.

2. What we collect

From your application, however you send it in: your name, co-applicant name, business name, mailing address, service address, county, phone numbers, email address, authorized users, how you heard about us, and the plan and term you picked. Applications signed on paper get scanned and stored in the same system as ones submitted online.

A driver’s license or Social Security number. See Section 3.

Your Wi-Fi network name and password, if you choose to give them to us. See Section 4.

Billing information: payment method details, which our payment processor handles; invoices; payment history; balance.

Service and network information: equipment identifiers, IP addresses we assign, signal and performance data, how much bandwidth you’ve used, connection logs, and support ticket history. Where you use a router we manage, we can also see the devices connected to it — names, manufacturers, and connection details — which we use to support you and troubleshoot problems.

Support interactions: notes, call records, and correspondence.

Website information: if you use the address availability search at www.starwire.net, we record the address entered and what came back. We use standard web analytics.

We don’t sell your personal information. We don’t use your browsing history for advertising and we don’t sell it to anyone who does.

3. Driver’s license and Social Security numbers

Why we ask. We put equipment and labor into getting you connected up front. If an account goes unpaid and we have to send it to collections, agencies generally won’t take an account without an identifying number.

We don’t pull credit reports. We don’t get consumer credit reports and we don’t use this to judge your creditworthiness or decide whether to serve you.

What we do with it. It goes on your application, stays in your executed application document, and is stored in our operations system. Only staff who need it can get to it. We don’t use it for marketing, don’t sell it, and don’t share it except with a collection agency or credit bureau over an unpaid balance, or where the law requires. We can waive the requirement if we choose to.

How long we keep it. We keep your executed application and related account records for at least ten years after your account closes. We don’t delete records automatically. You can ask us in writing to delete them, and we’ll delete what we’re not required to keep.

If there’s a breach. If we learn that unencrypted personal information was taken, we’ll notify affected people as Wis. Stat. § 134.98 requires, and as Minnesota law requires for Minnesota residents.

4. Your Wi-Fi credentials

If you give us your network name and password, we store them so we can help you recover the password without sending a technician, to help confirm it’s you when you contact us, and so our technicians can connect to your network when they’re working at your address. It’s optional and isn’t required for service.

We only release them to someone who satisfies our identity check. If you’d rather we not have your current password, change it on your router anytime. Keep in mind that whatever you wrote on your application stays on the signed copy we keep under Section 3.

5. What we use it all for

Providing, installing, maintaining, and supporting your Service; billing and collecting; confirming your identity; planning network capacity and where to build next; talking to you about your account; and complying with the law.

We use combined address-search data to decide where to build and to support grant applications. That looks at addresses and results, not at who searched.

6. Who we share it with

Our payment processor; our billing and operations platform provider; installation contractors, limited to what they need; collection agencies and credit bureaus for unpaid balances; our professional advisors; law enforcement and courts responding to valid legal process; and anyone who buys our business or network, subject to this policy.

We require our service providers to protect your information and use it only for what we hired them to do.

7. How we protect it

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards suited to how sensitive the information is — limits on who can open customer documents, encryption in transit, limits on emailing sensitive documents, and an identity check for account inquiries. No system is perfectly secure.

8. Your choices

You can review and correct your account information by contacting us.

Minnesota residents. The Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act may give you rights to access, correct, delete, and get a copy of your personal data, and to appeal if we say no. Contact us at the address above.

9. Children

We don’t market to children and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

10. Changes

We may update this policy under Section 23 of the Subscriber Agreement. The current version is at www.starwire.net.
